MSC Divina Cruise Review by BchBikerBum
- Sail Date: December 2018
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Fantastica Balcony Stateroom
The cruise included a "drink package," however a 15% service charge based on the printed cost was added to all orders. Not really a big deal, but you can expect to pay between 80 cents and a dollar per drink. To upgrade to premium would be an additional $35 per person per day, so didn't feel it was worth it for us as we drink mostly beer, wine and vodka).
The staff and service were excellent. Our cabin attendant was superb as were our waiters. The selections for food, desserts and drinks were very good. The ship's interior was a beautiful, contemporary style, but still warm and friendly.
The main shows were what we expect on a cruise and the lounge entertainment was very good. We hoped there would be more of a variety in the lounges, but the Brazilian Sax and Guitar player were our favorite.
Overall we had a wonderful time and plan to cruise with MSC again this year.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews
ScubaBe CAREFUL when booking a dive trip Aruba as the ship is only in port for a few hours and you will be UNABLE to complete the excursion. Fortunately, we booked the excursion with the same company as we booked the cruise and we had insurance that reimbursed the pre-paid expense due to the lack of time available.View All 22 Scuba Reviews
Cartagena (Colombia)Just outside the port is a FREE bird and wildlife sanctuary that is well worth the short walk to visit. After visiting, we negotiated a taxi for two hours to take four folks around to all the sights for $15/ea.View All 733 Cartagena (Colombia) Cruise Port Reviews

BeachIf you pre-book a beach spot with Tropicana, there is NO charge. If you don't have a reservation, it's $5/chair. Fares are posted so only pay $8 total for the short cab ride to the beach--even with 4 in the car. Beware of folks selling "all inclusive drink packages" as they aren't associated with the bar. The service was good and the staff was honest and friendly. They warn you that the "silver jewelry" isn't real nor are the "Cuban cigars," so avoid buying from the walking vendors. The had fair prices and good food.View All 339 Beach Reviews
ScubaWe were very impressed with Alex Scuba in Cozumel. We arranged to be picked up at one of the boat stops near the ship. The boat arrived on time and made two other pick ups on the way to the dive site. Enroute, the dive master provided a detailed briefing of the site (Gardens at Palancar Reef) and a safety brief. The equipment was first class--not cheap rental junk and there were 5 crew to support 8 divers. I highly recommend looking into Alex Scuba for diving or getting a certification.View All 112 Scuba Reviews
