We were nervous about cruising for such a long time but we discovered it was so great it wasn't long enough! Norwegian is excellent in all they do. The ship was in great shape, well maintained and clean. The service was personal and impeccable. The cabin was roomy with a nice closet with shelves. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Although if you were overweight you might not say that. The options for complimentary dining were plentiful and delicious every time. I had shrimp (my fav) every night each served a different way. The desserts left us speechless with delight. The entertainment was enjoyable. The comic was great and the magician was superb. The juggler/comic was fun. The best show was Burn the Floor. It was no problem getting seats. The much acclaimed Rock of Ages was useless, unless you have the mindset and humor taste of a 15 year old boy. A serious waste of time. Fortunately the quality of the talent in the tasteless show made it bearable. The ports were typical for the carribean. We were pleasantly surprised by Costa Maya and loved renting bikes in Cozumel. Roatan was our least favorite. We didn't do any formal excursions because we're pretty adventurous and enjoyed the ports on our own time/terms. The embarkation in New Orleans was a little slow. They give you a check in time but they certainly don't adhere to that, it's basically a free for all, wait in line mass. Disembarkation went smoothly. We really enjoyed the briefings by the officers of the ship, so interesting. The gulf was a little rough (12 foot swells) on a couple days but the weather was mostly in the 80s. The swells were so bad we couldn't tender in to Grand Cayman. Norwegian gave us a refund for that which I thought was very honest and nice of them. The onboard facilities were so fun-mini golf, the ropes course gets a huge thumbs up! There were plenty of deck chairs and I really like the walk and outside restaurant seating they have around deck 8. The gym was excellent and we used it every day. They have plenty of machines of every kind. This was a GREAT cruise! Very few kids, mostly older couples, so quiet and relaxing!
Supposed to be a mid ship cabin but tended to be closer to the bow but not too far from elevators. nice and quiet.
We rented bikes from Best Bikes, a hole in the wall, walking distance from the ship and rode them out to the Mayan ruins. It was AWESOME and only cost $15
