Our experience on the Orion lived up to Viking River Cruise Standards in every way. Onboard entertainment was surprisingly good for such a small ship [ 900+ passengers]. The Viking Band performed every night in the ships different venues and were excellent as were the four Viking vocalists who usually performed every night in some type of production on the ship's main stage. A bonus was the other individual performers ,such as Daniel [ an acoustical guitarist ], who performed every night before and after dinner in the ship's various lounges. No shortage of entertainment thanks to cruise director Bevan and asst. director Ian.

Food quality/service met or exceeded Viking river cruise standards. The Restaurant [no reservations] never had a wait although early reservations are advisable at Manfredi's and the Chef's Table.

Cruise personnel were well trained and courteous at all times.

Cabin Review

Cabin Jr. Penthouse Suite

Spacious cabin with an adjacent sitting area [ couch,2 chairs and additional clothes cabinet ] that can be seperated from King size bed area by a movable curtain. Well laid out and beautifully appointed. Oversize balcony as well.
