The Epic is an interesting ship. It has great restaurant choices and excellent entertainment. However, the locations on the ship other than the theater are far too small for the number of cruisers. When the ship is not full it is very comfortable, but when the ship is at or near capacity, you will find yourself in a line, a crowd or a long wait for dining. We never were about to attend some of the evening entertainment since it was standing room only looking in from the entry door.

The staff is very attentive and do their best, but the ship meeting areas just are not made for a full house.

The rooms are slightly funky with a separate toilet and shower stall with opaque glass windows. It is the only ship I have ever seen like this. I can live with it, but it is different.

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony

Cabin B9

Odd cabin layout with separate toilet and shower with only opaque glass. The balcony is nice and it is somewhat close to the Spa, but it is under the designated smokers area on the 15th deck, so quite often there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the balcony, prohibiting us from either enjoying the balcony or having the door open for fresh air.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Fun, exhilarating and a great view of the island. Also, the stop at the Soggy Dollar bar was fun and a great beach and bar.

St. Thomas

This was a very different experience. The staff was great and it is well organized. Not frightening or intimidating. This is a great introduction to the underwater world.

Great Stirrup Cay

We started the day Parasailing and the experience was incredible. It is a smooth ride and the staff made everything simple and not at all intimidating. The ride was so great, I would do it again!

Great Stirrup Cay

We returned to the beach and snorkeled in search of the sculpture garden. We found a few sculptures, which were cool, but far less than I expected. Also, if you have decent snorkeling gear, bring it! The rental gear ir not very good. The waters are cloudy near the shore due to the fine fine sand, but going out near the rocks and it is beautiful.
