We were interested in the ports in the itinerary (several in Noreay, Denmark, Germany, Poland, St. Petersburg Russia, Estonia, and Sweden) and we had gotten a great recommendation from friends on the quality of the Viking Ocean cruises. We particularly enjoyed the several stops in Norway. Other highlights: Helsinki was lovely. We visited the Stutthof Concentration Camp near Gdańsk, Poland. St. Petersburg was absolutely amazing. Excursions were well run, and the local guides were terrific. We enjoyed dining options aboard the ship, none with an extra cost. There is 24 hour room service available, also at no charge. Free internet worked well throughout the ship. Viking also provides free internet to the crew, unlike other cruise lines, which allows them to stay in touch with family during time away from home. The crew were all terrific, and provided a high level of service. Common areas were expansive and never crowded. We enjoyed our trip so much that we have booked another Viking cruise for next year.
Everything about our cabin was great except the clothing storage. There is a large closet but a few more drawers and/or shelves would be very helpful.
Bergen is a beautiful walking town. Learned much about the Hanseatic League
Lovely to see the fjords and natural beauty of Noway
Stockholm is a beautiful city built across many islands. We had previously visited there.
We were greeted by Danes playing music and waving flags at the dock. Interesting walking tour.
Enjoyable town to visit on foot
