I’ve debated commenting on our cruise on the Infinity. Celebrity presents itself as a premium cruise line, which attracted us. Ultimately, the feeling was one of disappointment and cruisers should know about our experience.
I’ve been thinking about what I expected and how Infinity failed to meet my expectations. I – we – expected a “premium” experience. What we didn’t realize is that the premium experience does not extend to non-suite passengers. Most cruise lines have a range of accommodations that cost more and provide more, but the feeling on Infinity was that those of us traveling in steerage (veranda, ocean view and inside staterooms), were the decidedly unequal to suite passengers.
As Cruise Critic has pointed out, the so-called Select dining is in a Trellis dining room that became smaller – cramped is more accurate – to create a special dining spaces for suite passengers. Our table was eight inches from the next table, forcing the waiter to squeeze sideways between the tables.
