This was our first time cruising with Royal Caribbean. After all the reviews we've read we expected it to outshine the other lines we've sailed with. It didn't, but it was still a great cruise.

We drove to San Diego the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn-Downtown. The hotel was very nice, but I was irked that they charge $15 to park there and hadn't bothered to tell me about it in advance. I should have researched it better, I guess. We probably wouldn't stay there again.

We took our car to a "Park -n- Go" lot which gives a discount if you print off a coupon from their website (google using keywords park go SD) They had a shuttle which took us over to the cruise port at about 11 AM.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Stateroom # 8104, nice cabin, strange round footed bed (but comfortable) "hump" balcony of nice size but forward view obstructed by the "hump" of the cabin next door, small bathroom, plenty of storage, terrific steward, close to elevators.
