I had last visited the Amazon River over 50 years ago, in less than luxurious style, stringing a hammock on a commercial boat. Now, I was able to do it in style, and what great style it was. Everything about the cruise was great, from the cabin itself, to the meals, to the organized lectures aboard. Not having any children aboard was a plus, and not having to pay extra for specialty dining or for wine with meals was an even bigger plus. And optional shore excursions were moderately priced and, with one exception, very well organized. Even the tipping was accomplished well - a daily charge was added to the bill, so it was not necessary to fill any envelopes with cash. And the cabin crew was excellent, even knowing that they would not be getting individual envelopes from us. The one negative was that we were seated in different areas of the restaurant each night, and were not able to establish a rapour with any particular servers who would have been better able to know our regular preferences.
Comfortable size, both the sleeping area and bathroom, with a small French balcony. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, though I would have preferred a real top sheet instead of the European style bedding. Lots of lighting available, so it was easy to read at night. The high definition television was also quite nice.
We got to see how some of the fruits and products of the rain forest were harvested and used, such as rubber.
Comfortable ride, beautiful scenery, very relaxing.
A little bit rushed, trying to show too much in too little time
