We chose the Vista because of it's itinerary and the description of the ship itself. It all sounded soo wonderful. The staff were generally great, but you could see the strain they were under, even though they tried. There were just TOO many people everywhere, and yes the ship was beautiful, but we felt like trapped sardines. There were such LONG lines for ANYTHING: from food lineups, to counter lineups, to pizza lineups, even to access the only ONE working machine to check your Cruise Folio. And my husband and I were extremely sickened to our stomachs at the condition of each and every pool/hot tub that we tried to go to. The water in it was cloudy and filthy with scum floating around. I couldn't even bring myself to dip my feet in there. How can the staff not change the pool water? I imagine maybe they did, but there were just SO MANY bodies in there all the time, that perhaps it was a losing battle to keep the water clean. I have never been on a ship with such disgusting pool conditions...and my husband and I have been on various other cruise lines.
Our Cabin 8282 was perfect for the two of us, and our cabin steward was very friendly and did an amazing job as always in providing everything we needed. No complaints there at all!
My ONLY best encounters were the late night comedy club, the fantastic shows, and some of the restaurants (food was pretty good!), and FOR SURE the fantastic staff in the EFFY shop onboard! The comedy club had some very talented comedians and we have never laughed so hard and had so much fun with comedy shows before! Great work on getting these superb shows Carnival.
As far as EFFY, first I want to apologize sincerely to the managers of Effy for not posting this review soon enough (took me over 4 months to finally post this review--so sorry Abhay and Shahnav). Abhay and Shahnav, along with their terrific staff, went above and beyond their basic duties and did SOO much to help us and guide us, as we made our purchases and as we decided to make couple of pretty big purchases too! (very big for us, indeed!) They are very friendly and made us feel just like family, and I even got pretty emotional on the last day as we said our goodbyes. I've never felt that close to anyone from any of our countless trips/cruises before. All my husband and I want to say is that we wish them both an excellent 2019 ahead, both in success and happiness, and wishing their families the same as well!
Carnival Vista: PLEASE please do something about the condition of your pools and hot tubs (hopefully it has been corrected by now). And we surely hope you can figure out a better way to serve meals to the guests without having them wait in 30-45 minute lineups, especially after returning from an excursion on shore and being tired as it were. And we surely hope you get more of those machines installed where guests can print their folios and keep it in working order, especially the last cruising day!
For the two of us, our balcony cabin was just perfect. Our cabin steward was great as well, and provided everything we needed. No complaints at all! We loved our cabin!
