We found this cruise to offer the best Hawaii itinerary. We have only ever cruised on Disney Cruise Line and this did not even come close to comparing. YES, Disney is worth the extra expense.
We found out not even 24 hours before we were supposed to board that the ship would be setting sail a day late due to a maintenance issue. We were allowed to board the ship anyway and were offered $100 per stateroom for the inconvenience. THIS WAS AN INSULT! We missed an entire day in Maui and the 12 hour excursion we had booked for that day was ruined. At a very bare minimum, we should have received $100 a person!
We boarded the boat at the time we were originally scheduled to do so so as to make the most of the extra time in Honolulu. Clearly everyone else boarded early to try to clear up the mess of the late departure and deal with excursion changes. We boarded the boat with no one to take a souvenir embarkation photo and not a single person greeted or welcomed us aboard. When you board a Disney ship, you are made to feel like a celebrity!
Cabin Review
Penthouse with Large Balcony
LOVED THIS CABIN!!!!! It is rated at an SE category but it had the king bed, a murphy bed, AND a pull out couch. Plenty of room for our family of 4. Walk in closet and luxurious bathroom with a jetted tub and a large, luxury shower. We had other family members in regular rooms and I can't imagine the four of us staying in one of those! Only downside is that the large balcony overlooks the pool so it can get a little noisy at times.

PArk was closed due to government shut-down but still got to see the crater. Very cool!
Kauai
UNREAL!! Rent a jeep and drive to allow plenty of time for pictures, hiking, and exploring.
