We wanted to get out of the Colorado cold weather and have fun on New Year’s Eve. Chose this cruise as we sailed Princess before and liked the ports. We loved the ship, especially the retreat pool and the entertainment. New Years parties were fantastic. Unfortunately, our interactions with the crew didn’t meet our expectations. Generally the crew from guest services, wait staff, deck attendants, etc ranged from unhappy to annoyed. Rarely did we ever see any crew member even smile (except for the cruise director or the entertainment) This was very surprising. We did not experience this on our previous Princess Cruise. We chose traditional dining so we could get to know our waiter. Unfortunately, the service for dinner was subpar. Again our waiter was generally unhappy and disorganized. We waited for long periods of time to get menus or water. Drink and food delivery was slow also. We did notice other parties with different wait staff had much more positive experiences and faster service. Since Princess automatically charges you with a daily gratuity, we wondered if the staff just stopped trying. We did book another cruise with Princess hoping this cruises poor service was just an anomaly.
