We chose this cruise because we wanted to get away for New Years for a week. Embarkation was very quick and we were immediately loaded onto ship with no waiting in lounge. Had to wait a bit till rooms were ready, but that’s to be expected. We were in Club class and enjoyed most of our meals in their special dining area. We actually felt the wait staff were a bit over attentive as it felt fake and suffocating. Food was typical for Princess - nothing special, just ok. The pizzarria and the grill by the pool were hot & fresh as well as delicious and staff there were quite friendly & helpful. We attended most nightly entertainment shows - 2 guest entertainers had two shows each and we felt their second shows were nowhere as good as their first - almost seemed an afterthought or leftover material thrown together as we really liked their first shows! Service was ok, oft times drink service was slow and NOBODY went out of their way to be friendly, charming, amusing, or even attentive. Went to 24 hour International coffee place early one morning (5am) only to be told machines were being cleaned and to come back in 45 minutes when they could then resume coffee making - so much for 24 hour service! We signed up to take the Ships tour ar $150 each (with gifts to be received including a $75 valued robe, a nice picture frame, 5 group photos, a bbq apron, and a personalized pad of paper). All gifts arrived except the robe and when I questioned guest services, I was told they had no robes but would be happy to credit me $25 each! Wow - what a shock - a $25 credit for a $75 item? I was shocked that this was the best they could do and that I had to ask for it when the robe had been advertised by their crew as a participation gift! Disembarkation was well organized and went very smooth and quick!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

Bed was soft and edges of mattress were not firm enough to sit on comfortably. Couch was very hard and tuff to sit on. Tub drained slowly. Room location was close to elevators but not noisy! Room steward service was average - nothing special.

Port Reviews

Cabo San Lucas

Port is nice to walk around after tender ride from ship. Tends to get rather crowded if other cruise ships are in port also.

Mazatlan

Mazatlan reqrequires you to get a cab to go anywhere. It’s a short ride to the downtown area ( not real clean nor recommended). It’s a bit longer cab ride to go see the cliff divers along the beach or to go into the “golden zone” that abounds with shopping and eating places- both fairly clean & recommended!

Puerto Vallarta

This port requires you to rent a cab to go to the “malecon” which is fun, full of walking along shoreline, shopping, and many places to eat/drink - much recommended!

Los Angeles

This port is quite busy. One could visit the S.S. Lane Victory ship that shares the same parking lot or take a short cab ride around the corner to walk thru “Ports of Call” to shop/eat! There are many other places nearby to visit (Queen Mary, Shoreline Village, The Aquarium, downtown Long Beach), a variety of places to stay, and it’s not too far from LAX, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and a host of things in LA/ Hollywood!
