We received a casino offer for our December 9 cruise which we couldn't pass up. The only drawback was the fact that our Inside K cabin did not have a sofa, only a desk chair. This made it particularly uncomfortable for my husband. This isn't a complaint, just a heads-up.
As always the Holland America crew was friendly and personable. Food was wonderful as were the ship amenities.
We were not able to tender to the private island due to the weather and I was pleased to see that we received a reduction in the port charges. I hadn't even considered this. I was disappointed because I really enjoy Half Moon Cay.
Small but comfortable. No sofa, just a desk chair.
It is a two hour drive for us so we went directly to the port.
Read on Cruise Critic that instead of going left off the dock, bear right and it is a more secluded area. Enjoyed this area. Clam shells were abundant.
On previous stops in Grand Turk we rented a golf cart to explore the island and enjoyed that very much.
We have been to San Juan previously and this time just walked around a bit.
We were docked at Havensite and just did a little shopping.
On previous cruises we have taken the public ferry from Red Hook to St. John. Really enjoy the stores at Mongoose Junction, especially Caravan for affordable, unique jewelry.
I love Half Moon Cay and was disappointed that we could not tender due to the weather.
