Sail Date: Dec 2018

The boat was smaller and much older than expected, ceiling ripped around the pool sitting area, can lights falling out in the dining room, most windows in the adult pool area are all corroded with salt buildup and rusted shut. Older carpet and furniture in staterooms in need of a refresh. We had metal bits poking through our carpet. The Casino located inside the boat's interior allows smoking but does not have sufficient ventilation, resulting in most of the surrounding common areas and stateroom hallways smelling quite smoky. The volume of band music was uncomfortably loud in both the main pool area and also in the lobby of the ships open central area located near the Concierge desks. Such that every time we went to speak to the Concierge to book an excursion, dinner, talk to Next Cruise, or the Loyalty Ambassador, the overly loud volume was obnoxious and very difficult to hear what employees at their desks were saying. Employees also had difficulty communicating with guests over the high volume as well. Several of the food staff were coughing and sneezing directly on and around the guests and food, including servers at the formal restaurants we went to. Buffet food was okay, however the same items were provided each day with little variety. It seemed like some foods were 'recycled', for example if all the fish fillets were not consumed, the next meal we would see 'fish cakes', that looked like the same fillets chopped up and pressed into a patty and fried. Dining in the main seated dining room was fairly well serviced but most of our food arrived quite cold, soggy and fairly unappetizing. We enjoyed the Chef's Table experience which was by far the best food we had onboard. Embarkation and disembarkation process seemed to be well organized. Given our experience we would not recommend this cruise to friends.
