We sailed for a sixth year for Christmas, but the first time on MSC. The cruise was a great value and included Drinks on Us, which we upgraded to the Classic drink package.

Embarkation was delayed because people from the previous cruise refused to get off, but once we were on things went smoothly. We were able to change our dining time and get into our room right away. Disembarkation was on time and ran smoothly. However, we had to be out of our rooms by 7:30 and weren't allowed off the ship until 9:30, so we spent a lot of time just waiting without anything to do. We were happy that our drink package worked on the last morning though.

The ship was well maintained and decorated, but the colors were dark and ceilings were low in most public areas. We had a harder time navigating the ship than any of the nine previous ships that we have been on because there were so many dead ends.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

The balcony is huge! We loved having loungers on the balcony and looking out at the wake. We had great views in ports too. However, we could definitely feel the engine vibrations going into and coming out of port. When we were at sea, there were some vibrations, but much more minor.

The rest of the room was a standard balcony room. It could have used more storage. We had just enough room for 2 people for 10 days, but there was wasted space that could have fit more drawers or another closet. The bathroom was adequate, but also could have used more storage.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Wanted to take the ferry to Virgin Gorda to see the baths, but our ship was delayed docking and we missed the first ferry. With the holiday and the delay, the next ferry sold out and we didn't have enough time to wait for the next. Ended up walking around the port and turning it into a "sea day".
