The Star was updated in drydock relatively recently. Superficially everything looks fine, though we did notice rather loud creaking sounds on deck 11 in the hallways when there was wind/waves. Never noticed that on other ships. The staff was great. NCL seems to have good luck overall with getting people who are friendly and want to be helpful. The food also was much improved over our last cruise. But still not consistent. Some meals were so-so, others were very good. Specialty restaurants or main dining, it was the hit or miss. One annoyance was the short port time in both Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. Other cruises spend more time in both ports, and it would have been nice if they gave us more time there on this cruise also. Final disembarkation seemed very slow. Even when they called various groups there was a long line on the deck, the gangway, and the outside portion of the port building. I can say for sure but I assume some inefficiency somewhere. If we're going to be in line anyway, why call our group? Let the line go down a bit before calling the next group.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony
Cabin MA 11068
The cabin was reasonably spacious. The bed was much too firm, but they put some sort of topper on it that really helped. Large TV, only two dresser drawers, and the safe was awkward to access in the closet. Balcony was adequate and allowed for some relaxing. Didn't really like the tub; would have preferred a standalone shower.
