Locations visited and length of cruise was perfect. The staff was exceptional, and the food was delicious and plentiful! The wait staff kept the wine glasses filled as requ at both lunch and dinner. Although we weren’t on the optional drink plan, the wine selections were very good. It was a very comfortable journey...not rushed, and we enjoyed the actual cruise alng the rivers. Seeing the scenery of vineyards, small villages, old castles, windmills and large cities lit up at night was an unexpected delight and it was glorious. On our last evening in Budapest, the captain took the boat out on the river to see the glorious lighting on all the buildings. It was beautiful!
Because of the smaller size and fewer passengers, we had time to meet, chat with and relax at the lunches and dinners with other guests. We would sit with some several times at both lunch and dinner, as well as see them on the daily walking tours. We exchanged contact information with some of them.
We were in in lower level and the window was right at the waterline. However we didn’t spend time in the room except to sleep and change clothes, so it was not a big deal. It was actually the same size as the French Balcony inside.
The only negative was the some sounds from the boat were amplified by the water slightly due to being in the lower area.
It rained lightly most of the day, but we had an umbrella and still took marvelous photos. My photographer husband says “cloudy bright” is a great time to take pictures.
Saw the famous Wurzburg organ and the building that housed it.
Saw the old court building, city square, the Neue Residenz, and the beautiful rose garden. We had a good view out over the city. This was a very quaint city.
Our excursion included a bus ride around the city, seeing the former Nazi prison, the Nazi headquarters and beautiful park that surrounded it, as well as the building where the Nuremburg trials were held.
After taking the walking tour, we went out on our own to see and photograph other places. We also went back to a few we had seen in order to ser up the tripod for better shots.
We toured the cathedral and saw the unbelievable paintings on the walls and ceilings. We also were treated to an organ concert.
Passau is a beautiful city. I would love to spend time there.
This was a huge complex that was well-maintained. Beautiful decorations and wall paintings. The grounds were large and extremely well-manicured. This was a beautiful place on a hill with some nice views of the surrounding area.
We did the walking tour and enjoyed it very much.
This was a bus tour. The city is Hugh and we drove around the city center and downtown. Walked on our own for a while and met up with the bus later. Very nice city.
