My husband and I are long-time independent travelers and never saw ourselves as cruisers. To celebrate a special wedding anniversary, we were drawn to the Viking Homelands cruise because of its port-heavy itinerary. So many of the cruises offered by other companies had more at-sea days and skipped so many of the awesome ports we were able to see with the Viking Homelands cruise. We loved every minute of our cruise and are certain that there will be more in our future!

The Viking Sea was amazing! The ship was so comfortable, with quiet spots when we wanted to find one and fun nights in Torshavn with fellow travelers, now friends with whom we're working to plan our next Viking cruise. The crew members were friendly, efficient, and helpful. We tried to take advantage of all of Viking's offerings - the spa, restaurants, and entertainment. We loved it all.

We booked into a PV1 cabin after reading reviews about the added dresser and additional space. It was the perfect size for us. We took advantage of room service on a couple of occasions, enjoying breakfast in our room, or a charcuterie board, fruit, and wine on our veranda. Although we had alcohol offerings in our room, we rarely used them because we had the Silver Spirits Package, which was definitely worth the price!

Penthouse Veranda Stateroom

Cabin PV1

Cabin 6013 was excellent! The added dresser and room width made for a more comfortable room and expanded veranda. The bed was comfortable and made for a restful night's sleep. The couch became a nice place for morning coffee before heading to breakfast or for room service while the veranda made for a nice place to enjoy a charcuterie plate and fruit on an earlier port departure day. Great bathroom, too!
