Never having taken an NCL Cruise we were looking forward to trying Freestyle cruising. From the very start it was a disaster. Tiniest room we’ve ever had, terrible lighting. Way too many people for the commons areas, elevators etc... lines for EVERYTHING. No outdoor space, no way to stroll the decks...no outside decks not crammed with stuff. Even trying to get off the ship was a nightmare, we had to stand in line for almost 2 hours just get off and then had the same lines to get through customs. Thank goodness for a wonderful porter, I’m not sure my husband would have made it through.

Naturally not all was terrible, the food was good except for the buffet, which was the poorest we’ve ever had on a cruise, poor selections, badly displayed, not conveniently arranged. $$$ restaurants were good, Le Bistro & Teppanyaki very enjoyable. Moderna not so much. Service was good but with so many people aboard even the hard workers couldn’t keep up. There were no trash cans in the commons area????? The casino was spread all over deck 6 and allowed smoking but they provided few ashtrays and people put their cigs out anywhere.

The only really good part of this cruise was the shows, Cirque Dreams was spectacular (at an extra cost) and comedy shows were really good, if you could get in but the best was Priscilla queen of the Desert. Best thing I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Tiny, poor lighting. No storage space. Only place to watch tv was on the bed. They only had 2 tv stations that weren’t advertising, Favorite tv shows & Favorite movies but you had to watch what they they selected and there was no guide. We booked a mid-ship cabin but there were only 2 banks of elevators neither was midship we walked a long way no matter which way we went out of our cabin. By the end of the cruise not all elevators were working or stopping on the wrong floor and was always a very long wait.
