My wife and I booked the mini-suite on the 14 day western Caribbean cruise on the Escape. We were upgraded to the Haven forward-facing penthouse by bidding. The room was spectacular. This room entitled us to use the Haven courtyard, pool, bar and restaurant.
First I have to acknowledge the Haven staff that made our vacation great. The two concierge, David and Nimfa, were always there for us for anything we needed done, and for special treatment, especially the back elevators. The two best bartenders on the ship, Branko and Surendra, made the best drinks, and always came up with different drinks for us to try. Next stop, the Haven restaurant. Each meal we were greeted by the smiling faces of Arnelita and Hazel who sat us and made sure we were well taken care of. The next shout out goes to all the waiters of this restaurant, Kent, Vincent, Thereza, Katherine, Girlie, Jose, and Anish. Sorry if we misses anyone. Their service and care for the cruisers can't be beat.
The service and food at Le Bistro is excellent. We loved sitting with Christian and Marc. They made our dining experiences special. Cagney's, our favorite restaurant, also had a special waiter, Augen, who we asked for as our server twice. His service and care was over the top. We can't forget our special bar server at the pool and at Headliners, Edward. He would constantly greet us and knew what we wanted.
Cabin Review
The Haven Forward-facing Penthouse with Balcony
Loved having a large room with plenty of space. Living room, dining area, large bathroom and separate bedroom. The balcony was small but didn't bother us as the size of the room made up for it. Lots of storage areas and closets.
Port Reviews
Ocho Rios
Been there before so we were on our own. Plenty to see and good shopping.
Grand Cayman (Georgetown)
Bus tour of the island, stopped at Hell, turtle farm, seven mile beach and the rum cake factory. Enjoyable tour.
Harvest Caye
Harvest Caye was a great surprise for us. Beautiful pool and beach. Good lunch at Landshark restaurant. Lots of shopping and scenery. Our excursion was cancelled but we really enjoyed the full day of sun and fun.
Cozumel
As we were there before, we walked to the town, away from the port shops. There are many shops, restaurants and bars. We stopped for drinks and people watched in the town square. Great shopping port.
