This 14/15 day cruise visited only 4 ports [excluding the embarkation/debarkation ports], and all of these ports were a long way from the "nearby city"-- about 4-6 hours (rt) by bus. The only stop with an enjoyable town/city was Ha Long Bay--- which is/was fabulous! Why they did not also stop in Hainan, China (as other more caring cruise ships do) is completely beyond me!! While the ship is not overly large {great from my point of view}, it offers most of the things and services which other ships offer (I have taken more than 14 cruises]. What I found to be a "negative" are the constant charges one encounters-- and, at prices which are atrocious-- e.g. internet charges of $40+ per day, for very slow internet speeds. "Special meals" (which did not seems very "special" to me or any other "foodie") were expensive [$40+ per person and an 18% gratuity]. The cost of shore excursions were very high-- at least 300% more than using "local services"--- and they do not pay the service providers more! Also, all excursions stop at places where "things" can be bought--- and "kick backs" are provided- and paid for by the traveller! The service provided by the room attendants and waiters at the dining room was excellent-- as extra service was always done with a pleasant "can do attitude"!! The solarium was another gem... unused by the majority of passengers. I particularly liked the wave pool and the emphasis on "Thalassotherapy" [healing powers of various salts]. The entertainment offerings were "spotty"--- some excellent--- others not, while well attended and interesting lecture series were cut short/terminated without any warning!! The ship's captain was an excellent communicator and made his most welcome presence felt!

OK-- but could have been much better!!!

Cabin Review

Ocean View 8
Cabin 08 3056
The cabin layout and size were better than average-- BUT all were to be replaced upgraded after the next cruise [it did not seem necessary to us]. The attendants were really helpful and very efficient!
