First off I'm solo traveler and second time to Asia on a cruise. I also prebook all excursions, beverage packages, and tranfers prior to leaving. I picked this cruise for ports, price of cruise, and length of time 23 days. Prior to leaving they upgraded me to Neptune suite from guarenteed signature suite. Stayed in Singapore 2 days prior and told port changed no problem got to port and had to inform them I was priority boarding as stated on luggage tag and she had to check but afterwards I was in within 10 minutes. Room was exceptionally large for a solo traveler but loved it (especially the laundry service for a long cruise). I booked 6 holland excursions and 5 private excursions. Holland excursions were overall good just hard to understand due to accent but overall good except for manilla not worth going to at all too much traffic and little to see. My private excursions were excellent and they were all on time. Food was good I only ate in dining room once for singles meeting for lunch and the food was good. I mostly ate in lido market and food was hot and great variety-just did not like the limited times for dinner 530 to 8 and reopens at 1030 to 1130. Did not like the Dive in Burger as it too 10 minutes for burger and fries and it did not taste that good. Ate at Canaleto and service and food good but did not like the selection. Also ate at Pinnacle Grill for dinner and lunch and food and service was excellent would highly recommend. While I was a Neptune Suite with a dedicated lounge and breakfast restaurant did not use restaurant as it was not convient during scheduled ports due to hours of operations which always changed. Laundry service was excellent had it out by 9 am got back by 5 pm. Holland America did an excellent job on the visa and entry forms needed for all ports. They gave detailed notices regarding what was going to happen in each port for each segment of the cruise and gave detailed discriptions on how to fill out forms. Only downfalls on trip was the 1. billing took week to get bev package on card 2. pre paid transfer to airport took till last day to get resolved --need to communicate that it is non refundable and flights need to be after 1 pm--got refund as flight b4 1 pm, 3. poor communication unable to hear notices unless right at cabin door unable to hear on tv although turned to correct station 4. need more places to get specialty coffee as exploration cafe is only open from 6 am to 930. Overall would highly recommend this cruise line and itinerary.
