We planned this cruise for a couple of years with two other couples. My wife and I both have mobility issues so this affected several of our choices and results.
Embarkation: We all flew in the night before and stayed at the same hotel. We coordinated our arrival. We had to walk some distance which was not a good omen for the embarkation although it turned out better than I thought it would. As soon as we got through security we got chairs in which to wait for wheelchair assistance. It took a long time (over an hour) for those to materialize for us; our friends were already on board and eating lunch while we waited. Once we were in the chairs, however, things sped up.
Room: handicapped accessible 8564. Well designed and set up for us. The only problem was the hardness of the bed which was solved by one of the best room stewards we have sailed with: Mal!
