We are a husband and wife in our mid-30s from Central Florida. We have sailed Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, and now for the first time, Holland America. We chose this cruise for the pricing, the itinerary, the newness of the ship, and that it had a bit of Celebrity's design influence.

We don't like belly flop contests and the party atmosphere of other lines, and we don't mind sailing with an older crowd. But I think this crowd was older than even we care for. And at times it was other passengers that would put a damper on our holiday. It was unpleasant and embarrassing for us to overhear the copious amounts of complaints and demands that passengers put on ship staff and excursion guides who are just doing their absolute best with what they have to work with.

Our stateroom was a tad smaller than what we have experienced before but the bigger shower makes up for that. The angle of the toilet was not a big deal, just initially awkward. The one thing about the stateroom that was aggravating was the closet doors which should be sliding doors instead of the french door style which interfered with the bathroom door (only a problem is your spouse is getting dressed and someone is wanting to get in and out of the bathroom).
