Before I get to the one big problem on this ship, and it is one that is easily fixable, I’ll start with the good stuff, because there are a lot of positive things to say about Royal Princess.

This was our seventh cruise on Princess, and fifteenth overall. I can honestly say this was the best restaurant experience we’ve ever had. The food was terrific, meals never rushed, everything hot. Chocolate desserts, especially those Norman Love selections, off the charts. Good cruise for chocoholics. Our waiter Gusti was the best we’ve ever had. Seriously, the best, and we’ve had some good ones. Terrific personality and great server. The head waiter from Romania did more than just stop by and say hello. One night he noticed a member of our group hadn’t eaten much and said she felt a little queasy. He went to a bar and brought back a ginger ale & crackers… without us asking for anything. That’s the kind of service that takes things to the next level.

Horizon Buffet food was better than other ships and also did not have a shortage of tables, as was common on previous sailings. Very friendly staff.
