I enjoyed the family atmosphere. I always felt safe onboard and on shore excursions. I love that more is included and there were fewer add-on charges. If it were the only cruise line I have experienced I may not noticed how much extra service is included. One example would be shore excursions. On other lines I’ve just been given the vague instruction to line up on the dock. On Disney they send you to a lounge or theater to check in and have a cast member walk you to your tour guide. There are usually opportunities to buy water and/or a cooler. On water related tours I’ve never had less than 2 chances to borrow a beach towel from the ship and return bins near the gangway upon return. If needed, sunscreen and insect repellent are generally available. Upon returning to the ship, other lines have had ice water available and hand sanitizer. Disney had those too, but the water was a variety of flavor infused and they added chilled moist wash cloths on hot days. We did have one dock lineup with Disney. It was at a port where we had to tender and their meeting places were color coded covered areas with bench seating available. Excursions are not the only extra services found on Disney, just a good example. On another line we experienced being dropped off at a historic location and told to find a taxi home.

We hope to sail this line many times in the future, but I’m sure we’ll sail other lines too. My favorite saying is I love Ruth Chris, but I don’t need it every time I have steak. On an average Friday night Texas Roadhouse is just right.

All this said, I ‘m not sure it’s for everyone. There are pleanty of adult only activities and nightlife aboard, but there isn’t the party atmosphere I’ve experienced elsewhere. There are mixology classes and cocktails available throughout the ship, but it’s not a booze cruise. Entertainment could also an issue. Again, plenty to be found in adult areas at adult times, but the big “Broadway” shows are family friendly and feature Disney characters. I love that, you may not.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 05D

Next to housekeeping closet, but didn’t cause an issue. Quiet and handy location.

Port Reviews

Castaway Cay

Nice beach, great amenities, great food at adult beach. As with any beach, weather can limit ability to experience everything you would like.
