We booked the maiden 7 night western Caribbean cruise in aqua class. We are very experienced Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruisers with over 50 cruises in our wake. We found the ship visually stunning with innovative architecture and interior decorating. The highly advertised new balcony design was a disappointment. After a couple days we found ourselves wishing for a traditional balcony. We found the motorized blind annoying when you want peek outside through the curtains, and the fold down half window seemed to be locked shut too often. The Blu restaurant is the primary reason we pay extra for aqua class. The one on this ship did not measure up to those on other Celebrity ships in food selection or quality. Entertainment on the main theater was also disappointing. The shows featured technical gimmicks over music and story line. There didnt seem to be as many activities as on other ships. The shops are very high end, and overpriced. We didn't buy anything on board, and that is very unusual for us. Since we are elite captains club, our drinks were comped. We did not try any of the specialty restaurants since they were fully booked, but we were very pleased with Tuscany and Normandy. The highlight of the trip was the service. The crew went over and above to please the customers. That made up for some of the shortfalls. Would we sail on this sail on this ship again? Probably not. We prefer the solstice design.
