Sail Date: Dec 2018
Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

My husband and I are avid cruisers with more than 14 cruises between us (1 RC, 1 Celebrity, and the rest Carnival.) This was our worst cruise experience ever. I booked this cruise a year in advance to grab one of the wrap-around aft balconies (cabin 8448.)

Positives: 1.) Our cabin steward, Randall, was GREAT. 2.) My family booked the opposite corner (cabin 8455) our views were phenomenal. Spectacular sunsets at each sail-away.

Negatives: Faster-to-the-fun was not fast this time around. Rooms were not ready, luggage was not delivered (we randomly stumbled on our luggage walking back to our cabin. I just happened to see them when we passed by cabin 8348.) Weirdest thing ever. Guest Services reluctantly offered us a “gesture” since they do not refund FTTF, to make up for the rocky start, a steak and free bottle of wine at dinner. Condition wise, the ship is beyond worn out, rust everywhere, window and balcony glass is salt stained, blurry and pelted with bird poo. Serenity jacuzzi tubs were down all 4 days. Serenity cushions are speckled with white and black paint, chairs, deck, and rails are all pitted and worn. The worst were the inside window sills around the food and eating area, thick with partially scraped layers of dust and dirt. Not appetizing. Bath drains are very slow and wafts of sewer smell constantly hit you as turn the corner from the rooms to the elevators.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Amazing view - only real highlight of the cruise. Rooms are worn and in dire need of updating. Can't beat the sleep systems on Carnival. Do do have that part down. I always sleep like a baby. Our cabin sometimes smelled like a deep fryer, maybe because were were just below deck 9 where the food is. But I LOVED the wrap-around balcony.
