I was very excited to learn that I would be on the first paying customer sailing on the much hyped new Edge, it sort of went downhill from there. The new terminal is great and embarkation was probably the smoothest I have ever experienced.
The ship itself is very nice- like a boutique hotel. Which is good and bad. Good if that is what you are looking for, bad if you want to feel like you are on a ship. The grand foyer is missing and has been replaced by a three story open area. The martini bar is small, I like the one on the Solstice class ships that are more of an ice bar and more of an entertainment venue. Personally I think the Eden bar is trying too hard. When we were there they had "interactive" actors- which just stood around and looked out of place, plus lots of "fog" for effect. The drinks there are WAY overpriced. They did not have bingo- a ship staple, and they posted a trivia contest but it was canx with no notice. Not sure if it was because it was only a 3 day sailing but we were bored, as there were really no daytime activities other than going to the Spa to learn about all the products or services you could buy.
I tried using the app, but the chat messenger did not work (it was so bad there was a line of people up and around the Guest Services area looking for assistance). Also, the app had times listed for restaurant times and show times, but it conflicted with the printed paper daily list of activities. The staff told us to follow the paper times, not sure why they couldn't have just updated the times on the app.
The room itself was very nice, but there were only USB ports by the bed, if you wanted an outlet you had to go to the desk. Also, it would have been nice if you could control the shades from by the bed instead of having to go to the temp panel or over to the window itself. The bathroom is bigger and I liked the larger shower
Have been to Nassau numerous times, basically walk along the main shopping street and then back to the ship.
