The kiddos had a fall break in September and we decided to take them on their first cruise. I also liked the ports of call because the first time I cruised, it was in the early 80's on MS Southward NCL and my first port was Puerta Plata DR. And my wife wanted to visit Turks and Caicos. In Amber Cove we selected an excursion right outside of the Duty Free shop that took us to a beach that was great ($29). We also got to visit a few shops that were ok. We could have passed on the shops. I wish I knew the name of the resort beach because that is one of the best I've visited. In Grand Turks the area next to the ship was too rocky and we felt we wasted our time in that section. However someone mentioned Governor;s Beach and section in front of Jack's Shack. We walked down there and it was perfect. It was less rocky and the water was clearer.

I have to honestly say my family had an amazing time on the vacation. The thing I liked about the Sunshine was the layout. The Serenity area was located in the front and the pool had a waterfall (my favorite part of the ship). The food was solid on the Sunshine and the staff was great. For dinner I found the port of call section of the menu to be much better than the regular items on the menu.

The only drawback is the strange layout of the Limelight Lounge, some seats were off to the side and there was a screen to see the comedians. Get there early if you want to see the actual comedian. This is a great family ship for someone looking for a casual cruise vacation.
