  3. Celebrity Reflection
For background, over the last 20 years or so, my wife and I have sailed on 24 cruises, 8 of them on Celebrity and the rest on both premium and luxury ships, small, medium and large. Our experience on this Reflection cruise was quite a step below our last cruise on the same ship just 18 months ago. This time, we opted for a premium suite hoping for a better or at least similar experience as our last cruise in a basic suite. The suite service was good both times, including Michael's Club and Luminae. However, ship-wide, we had to endure the same spotty service, aggressive sales pitches and lower food quality, etc. along with everyone else on the ship. Some of the worst service was in the Sky Lounge, the Ensemble Lounge, the pool area, and the Oceanview Cafe. Trying to get someone to wait on you was a test in patience. Furthermore, prices for most drinks and extras seemed to have increased as well. Guest entertainers were quite good, while the onboard production shows were disjointed, and too loud. The options for the days at sea were mostly pitches to sell you something, and the free lectures were pretty mundane. I think that the problem may have a lot to do with the recent introduction of the Celebrity "Perks" promotions. The idea is to entice customers to book a cruise by offering extras like a free internet package, free drinks package, free prepaid gratuities, etc. What happens is that there is little incentive for Celebrity to provide anything above the basics that just increases their costs. Instead, they push onboard sales and specialties for extra revenue. Given these issues, getting more from the "Perks" has actually resulted in less quality. We seriously doubt we will be sailing on Celebrity anytime soon again..

Cabin Review

Celebrity Suite
Cabin CS 1617
Quite roomy and comfortable. The only issues are that the bed is very hard, and the walk-in closet is so close to the bed it is tricky to get in and out.
Penthouse Deck Inside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
