I do not believe I will ever travel on NCL again. The staff was fair to say the least, of course there were some that were excellent but they were very few. Most were not very personable. The dinning and food was terrible unless you were in the specialty dinning areas (which you have to pay more for). The anytime dinning was not convenient, if you did not pre-book your time before your cruise you had to wait to get a seat or go late at night, Or go to the buffet (which I did not care very mush for that food). The seats in the theater were so tight that anyone over 5.5 feet tall their knees hit the seat in front of them. There was very few areas to just sit and read or play cards and if you had more then 4 people in your party you could not find a table anywhere to play cards. The shore excursions were nothing to write home about and the entertainment shows were just awful, except for one show. Embarkation was just fair but again the staff seemed a little grumpy, not the sunshine smiles I am use to on other cruise lines. Disembarkation was the worse I have ever been through. And something that I have never seen before, we found mouse droppings in our cabin.
The cabin was fair, a little smaller then on other ships but very do able. May have been a little tight if you had 3-4 people in the cabin. Large ocean view window, and the shower was bigger then most with a glass door, not the curtains that stick to you. We did hear noises at night from above, I believe there was a restaurant above us and we heard them moving things around. We also heard some noises from something metal outside our window.
We took a ship tour, "Antigua on your own". It was a LONG bus ride to get to Antigua (90 minutes). Our tour guide talked the entire way giving us history and telling us about the landscape. Once we were in Antigua we walked around the town (they gave us a map) saw the sites had a wonderful lunch in a small restaurant/pastry shop. Then took the long ride back where once again the tour guide talked the entire way.
We got off the ship and walked to the town, about a 5 minute walk just outside the port. Many venders along the streets selling their goods. We then got a pedi cad (bicycle with seats for us), our person worked hard to move 4 adults around the town but he went everywhere we asked him. He took us to a few markets and then to the beach, waited for us and then back to the port. We felt very safe here and had a nice day.
