We knew people who had gone on the same trip. We were considering a Viking river trip and this one was what we wanted. We were able to see the Ann Frank house in Amsterdam, which is something we had really wanted to do. We were glad to have that extra time at the beginning of our trip to explore Amsterdam a bit before embarking on our cruise. The ship, Saadi, was great. Our cabin, while not big, was comfortable and clean, and the maid who took care of our room did an excellent job every day! The food on board was wonderful— never any reason to be hungry! It seemed that all the waiters/waitresses would do anything to accommodate us. We were pleased that there was evening entertainment provided and we especially enjoyed the trivia contests! And the ports and shore excursions were all well planned. Our tour director, Stein, was great— he was very organized and kept everything, including all of us, on time. We enjoyed all of the ports and shore excursions, especially Salzburg (Sound of Music) and Vienna. We hadn’t read the optional tour description carefully enough and were surprised when we had a Viennese waltz lesson included in our tour! Even with the low water levels, having to change ships, and not having a full day in Budapest, we really enjoyed everything about the trip. We definitely would go on another Viking river trip.
