This was our 14 cruise on Princess and 2nd on the Regal. First I want to mention that I have read a few reviews for several different Princess ships in the past that were negative about either the food, service, ship, etc. or several of these and based on all of our Princess experiences, I can't understand what these people are talking about. After so many cruises on Princess we have always had a top notch experience. I will admit that cruising has changed over the past 20 years with more upcharges and fewer perks, but I believe that could be said for all of the mainstream cruise lines including Royal Caribbean on which we have also often sailed. Bottom line - our December cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Regal was outstanding.

The food in the Main Dining Room was excellent. Haviing cruised on Princess before, there were some menu items I recognized from previous cruises and some that were new. My favorite was the Veal Scalopine. The appetizers are fantastic especially my two favorites - escargot and the goat cheese souffle. Everynight there is a different main course pasta dish which can be ordered as an appetizer plus the fetucine alfredo is offered nightly which is a Princess specialty and always delicious. We also had lunch in the MDR on embarkation day and I had the salmon which was as good as any of the salmon we had during our summer Princess land and cruise Alaska vacation on the Golden Princess. Breakfast in the Horizon court was always good especially the made to order omeletes. The International Cafe is also a great spot for a morning donut breakfast "chaser", and afternoon snack, or a late night post casino sandwich. Alfredo's is a great place to grab lunch if you get back early from a port visit. The pizza on the pool deck is always fresh, hot, and tasty. Finally, the burgers at the Trident grill near the pool are also very good - juicy and done to your request.

We enjoyed the entertainment although we did skip a couple of the shows because we had seen them before and opted to go donate to the casino instead which was fun although we usually left mone behind. The entertainment and games the LIVE theater were always enjoyable especially the Marriage Game and Liars Club Game.
