Before I speak to the Infinity, I want to clarify that I am a Solstice Class Ship fan. The ships are a little larger, newer, and with common areas that are well appointed and trendy. This ship is older (Millennium Class). We were on this ship 8 years ago for a 20th anniversary trip to Alaska; We had a Concierge Balcony stateroom~ loved it!
I wondered how the ship had fared in 8 years, and even though I read some not-so-complimentary reviews of recent travels on this ship, I have to say, we were very happy!
i thought I'd feel cramped and maybe a little claustrophobic in an inside cabin, we took it for the experience of an inside, and for the price; I was traveling with a friend this time, and we didn't mind giving it a try! It was really nice! Never felt closed in at all...also didn't spend much time there. We were on the 7th floor midship, which I love, because we always use the stairs and it's easy to go up or down to anywhere on the ship. The food and service in general on the ship was fabulous! I don't understand the negative comments...? I will say that the ship does show signs of it's age, but all in all, they have done a lovely job of keeping up "this ol' vessel"! The Terrace on the top deck and aft on the ship is a great place to get away, unless there is a ballgame on the huge TV! We also enjoyed Cafe al Bacio(coffee bar) drinks are delicious, and the pastries there are included. The gym was mostly quiet, and the Solarium was very peaceful! Food in the Aqua Spa cafe is very good, with light, small portions. Happy Crusin'!
Roomy...clean, and a VERY comfy bed!
Surprised me that I didn't really miss my, hmmmm... "nessary" balcony!!
