Overall, I highly recommend this particular ship and this itinerary. We loved the fact that this was an 11 night trip and that it departed out of New Orleans. The Breakaway is newly refurbished and in BEAUTIFUL condition. Such a nice change from the tired ships we have sailed on in the past.

NCL allows you to choose your arrival time at the port and that made it a very easy and fast process to embark on the ship. We did not spend any time waiting around, but instead walked right through security, then getting our ship cards and then right onto the ship. We chose the 1-1:30 slot to allow the initial rush to calm down and it seems to have worked like a charm. We boarded the ship, set down in the Savor dining room for lunch and during that lunch it was announced all rooms were fully ready.

We had balcony cabin 11892 which is located AFT. The balcony cabins on Breakaway are really nice (again, newly updated) and the bathroom was one of the roomier we have had in this category of cabin. You didn't need a shoe horn to get in the shower. The only downside we found is that the closets are considerably smaller than what we have had in the past (there is about 3 ft. of hanging bar space and a section of shelves one of which includes the safe) AND, this was the worst part....the two drawers provided for storage are located under the couch and inconvenient to pull out and in. The plus is the drawers are quite large, but just not our favorite place to have to get to each time we needed something. Otherwise, there is loads of storage space in the cabin and the bathroom....especially in the bathroom.

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BX

We originally booked an inside cabin and then made an offer to upgrade to the balcony....BOY ARE WE GLAD WE DID. We got upgraded to a nice balcony cabin which gave us more room and a great view. This stateroom is starboard side.

Highly recommend Ken's Wheelchair Tours! Private tour in a van that has a wheelchair lift and you get to chose where you go and what you do.

Harvest Caye

BEAUTIFUL...can't wait to go back here.

We'd been before so we just hung out in the shopping area around the dock this time.
