Why did I choose this cruise? Because it was cheap, it offered some great ports, and the port isn't far from where I live. I was very disappointed in the condition of the EPIC and, worse yet, her crew. There isn't enough room to go into every detail about what was wrong, so I'll just do it in summation:

At one time or another during this 11-night cruise the following items were broken and needed attention: My balcony door, my shower door, the down escalator, the elevators were sporadic at best and there was no rhyme or reason as to why they would stay on one floor or another. It was not during loading or unloading...they just seemed to stop. A woman sitting near me in the Atrium ordered a drink and it showed up in a glass with a large crack that ran from the top to the bottom. The crew is very unfamiliar with their ship and kept giving conflicting information on what was where and which way to go. According to the "on screen" shopping directory, there was a store called the Sand Box where everything was $10. I called the front desk for more information and they told me it was on deck 7. Up I went, only to find nothing! I called the front desk again and another person answered who told me there was no store on the ship called the Sand Box and when I told them that wasn't what the TV said, she said, "Well, the TV is wrong." Thanks. There was so much conflicting information given out it was pathetic. My "Personal Latitudes Representatives" were never available and I was shocked to find it was just someone who also works at CruiseNext. As a Platinum guest, what was even more disappointing was that I was supposed to contact the front desk to get invited to the cocktail party. I found out too late how it worked so I didn't get to go, but it would've felt like I was inviting myself to a party instead of being invited by NCL in appreciation for my dedication to the cruise line. Another complaint I have to make is that it would have been so appreciated if NCL had at least one news channel on the TV that was real news...not just politics...news about people and places...CNN was available, but it was the highly edited, politics only news.

Once you walked through the casino you kept the smell with you all night, even if you walked through the Non-Smoking area. I will be sailing with Carnival a lot more now that they have started a more stringent no smoking policy. WHY does the casino have to be in a major pass-thru? Whoever came up with that one came up with a major design flaw. People had to go up one deck, walk end to the end and take the stairs down.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Teeny, teeny, tiny! And the phone light is way too light and had to be totally turned off every night.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

This port is much more expensive than Cozumel for goods and souvenirs.

Cozumel

Best shopping in the Caribbean as long as you avoid DI and other "recommended" shops.
