We Choose this cruise because of the mix of history, art and scenery. We were not disappointed. Each day was a new adventure. Mornings as we cruised on the river were sublime. The fog gave the scene a magical feeling. The places we stopped at were picturesque and historical. Each stop was led by a knowledgeable and friendly guide. They not only explained the historical and cultural significance of the sites, but also the present day life of the inhabitants. The highlight was the excursion to the Normandy Beaches and Museums. Standing on Omaha Beach were the infantry had to cross that open ground under heavy enemy fire was humbling.

The Food on board was great. We had a variety of dishes, highlighting the local dishes. All of the wines were delicious, and not boring.

The staff were professional and helpful. Each night featured and entertaining look at the plans for the next day. The tour director was extremely entertaining and knowledgeable.
