My wife and I took the seven day Mexico cruise out of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, we were not particularly impressed by the Splendor. Having cruised with Carnival many times, we were expecting better food. But there was no Guy Fieri hamburger joint on this ship, and the Splendor's poolside hamburgers were meh. The pizza served at the 24 hour Pizza Pirate was so so. In particular, the crust was crummy. On other Carnival ships, you can see that the dough is freshly made and the pizza guys are spinning the pie crusts right in front of you. Not on the Splendor, where I could see the crust was premade. Even the Indian buffet open for lunch was not as good as on other Carnival ships. As far as entertainment, the Splendor was pretty much like other Carnival ships. But the trivia was poor. Some of the folks hosting the trivia seemed uninterested, and in the past there have been varied prizes, but on the Splendor only the “ship on a stick.” Jeez, how many of those can you take home with you.

My wife and I will be steering clear of the Splendor from now on.
