We wanted to see Hawaii and thought the cruise would give us an idea of each of the island’s unique offerings .
We loved each and every island and will definitely go back to either Maui or Kauai. The ship offered a lot of shore excursions but they were very costly. Also, we did not want to be on the bus with 45 other passengers or more. We opted for the hop on hop off buses once we disembarked. Some deals are better than others but for our purposes, you could not beat the $20 fee per person for the day.
We also booked a tour from the ship and tours from independent vendors . Please be very careful when booking these offshore tours ss some of our friends had some very unfortunate experiences. One scrupulous vendor sold a tour to the falls in Kauai for $50 per person. The falls are about 10 miles from Port and are really not much to look at.
The cabin was spacious but our large balcony was almost the size of our room. It was covered so that we were able to sit out on the lounge chairs without baking in the sun. It also afforded us privacy without affecting the incredible view. It was at the front of the ship and we were told that I would feel the ship Swaying. However, in Hawaii Because of the deep waters, the ship the sways no matter where you are. The waves can be high – – this is why it’s a great destination for surfers. However, it wasn’t really bad enough to cause motion sickness. I’m not really sure what the category was of the balcony. Sorry!
