We are Elite on Princess and are very familiar with the ships. This cruise had a nice itinerary and for a 10 night cruise, visited some of the islands you don't get on a 7 night like Saint Lucia and Antigua. We have been on numerous Caribbean cruises and for that reason haven't been back for a number of years.
Ship had been refurbed in 2018 so it was nice to be on the ship with new carpeting, curtains, and furniture etc. without the wear and tear that all ships eventually suffer from. Also has the new restaurants like Planks and Steamers. However, once you get on a Royal Class ship, you definitely notice how congested and confused the buffet areas are on these Grand class ships.
We had a balcony on Aloha deck. We don't like the balconies where others can overlook us. The usual cabin layout but the cabin had been refurbed so it was in great shape. It was so hot, so early that we couldn't really sit out even for breakfast coffee. However, the view and the fresh air at night is great. I love the deluxe balconies on the Royal class ships because it gives you the sofa as an alternative to sitting in a chair or on the bed. Especially important on longer cruises.
Efficent layout. Lots of storage. Great flat screen TV with lots of choices. Air conditioning was weak.
