We travel over Thanksgiving yearly. This year we were going with our daughter and son-in-law. We chose this cruise mostly because we had never been to any of the ports other than San Juan and St Thomas. St Kitts, St. Lucia, Antigua, and Barbados were new for us. The price was good and we had a generous on board credit along with the classic beverage package. We used frequent flyer miles on Southwest. The flights to San Juan were pricey and I needed quite a few miles per ticket. I booked the first day November tickets opened up and had to take what was available. But we managed.

We left a few days before the cruise so we could stop and see friends in Orlando for a couple days. Our daughter had a red eye out of Denver on Thursday night. Our trip to San Juan was uneventful. Not so for our daughter. Snowy weather hit on Thursday and she had numerous delays and did not get to San Juan til 8pm on Friday evening. We stayed at Hyatt Place very near the pier on Friday night. The hotel was fine. We all were tired so went to bed early.

We slept in Saturday morning and decided to go to Punta de Vista in Old Town San Juan for lunch before we boarded. It has a roof top patio with not much shade. You take an elevator and then need to walk up a flight of stairs. It is not handicap friendly. We had a nice lunch and the food was good. The staff is very nice.
