We recently did an eleven day southern Caribbean cruise on the Star. We had an outside cabin with an ocean view. The 1st night was ok, but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th we could not get any sleep because of something banging on the outside bulkhead. I called guest services and nothing was resolved. The banging stopped for 2 nights then a different noise like a heavy line or cable rubbing against the side of the ship. That finally when away and was replaced by slouching sound like water is a tank slouching back and forth. So no sleep. Guest services sent me a bottle of wine and some chocolate covered strawberries. I am sorry but that does not make up for a terrible trip. The day we were in St Maarten, we went back to the cabin in the afternoon for a short nap. We woke up to a toxic odor of paint solvent. I called guest services and they said they would send someone down right away.
Well, he showed up 24 hours later, we could have been died by then. Luckily, the ship sailed and it dissipated the odor.
