We chose this cruise because of the convenience of leaving from a port close to home. We were joined by friends, which made the cruise fun. The ship is huge, and it was packed. Most of the time, it was hard to get a drink at a bar. It appeared the ship was understaffed. The specialty dining is good. Cagney’s is our favorite. At La Cucina the food was good, but when we asked if we could take our dessert to go because we wanted to see a show, we were told we couldn’t. I didn’t understand why because there is an upcharge for specialty dining, and we were going to eat it anyway, just not at that moment. The service in Teppanyaki was very slow. We couldn’t even get a drink until all the seats at the table were full. We were told we would have to wait until the two empty ones at our table were occupied before the server would take our drink order. Then the bill was messed up. We had a $70 charge, and we had a udp and a ubp, so we should not have had a charge at all. Two of three bills were like this. It took a long time to have it corrected. We couldn’t eat dessert because it took so long to get it done, and we were going to see a show. Usually at the buffet there is someone with sanitizer in a spray bottle, but that only happened at one entrance. The other entrances had sinks to wash your hands, but I never saw anyone use them except myself and my group. That’s a bad practice on a cruise ship. Our 12-year-old accidentally left a plastic bag with a jacket in it in Splash Academy. It was turned into guest services, but it was never found. We checked again before disembarking to no avail. We were disappointed that we were not able to watch college football anywhere on the ship, not even in our cabins. At least we were able to watch the Saints game in our cabins. I was surprised it wasn’t shown in the Atrium in the day we sailed. We were able to see it Thanksgiving Day in a lounge (Bliss). All the staff personnel were not fully informed with some procedures. We asked if there would be towels outside the ship when we stopped at a port. We were told we needed to check them out by the pool. We did so; however, there were some available outside the ship when we got off. At the next port, we grabbed some outside and had to sign them out. We were told we needed to check them back in there, but when we got there, there was no one to check them back in, so we were told to check them back in by the pool. It just seemed in many small instances that not everyone was on the same page when we asked about things. Some of the entertainment was not up to par, yet in some of the lounges (Syd Normand’s Pour House, in particular) it was excellent. Embarkation was extremely easy. Our cabin steward was good, and on the positive side, everyone was friendly. It was a very nice cruise overall.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

The cabin was a good size, and we liked the bigger shower, as well as the longer sink with two faucets.

Port Reviews

Harvest Caye

The beach is great. I just wish the weather had cooperated so that we could have enjoyed it and the pool area more.
