We were told this cruise line was great for kids. We chose poorly for our timing, sailing the week of US thanksgiving - we're from Canada.
I spoke with someone who told me they found out there were just short of 5,000 passengers on the boat due to the number of kids. The "splash club" (please don't hear the kids get to swim) was so full I had to get in a long line when we arrived to sign them up. No point really. My oldest, 9, begged me to take her out when I saw her squeezing though the people two by two on our at sea day to the basketball court at top. I tried to take her out but only had the password, my signature and my card. I needed her card too. Her dad had it. I appreciate they're careful, but I admit I was angry that I had to leave my daughter behind and find her dad when I had everything but a card anyone could get their hands on to prove she was my daughter.
We had an excursion on the Friday and couldn't take the kids. We booked it assuming that since they've loved kids clubs at resorts we'd been to we'd be good, not the case here. By the time we were back, I was called and told my oldest was crying and wanted to leave, my youngest, 7, told me she found a way to stop crying five times. They HATED it.
We had a mini suite. I'm reasonable and understand we were on a boat. It was a good size for that reason, we had a good sized and comfortable bed, the girls had bunk beds. Qmar was in charge of our room and did an excellent job. He always knew me by name and said hello. He made me smile.
We got off the boat to go to the beach for a short time and returned. It was busy.
