Sail Date: Nov 2018
Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

We chose this cruise because the embarkation port of New Orleans was convenient to our party of seven. Two of our party came from central MS, & 5 of us from the FL Panhandle.

The BAD:

Access to the Port of New Orleans is a nightmare, obviously an afterthought. Once there, we observed luggage handlers actually dropping bags onto the RR track. The embarkation process is unbelievable! Not in a good way...

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

The cabin is smaller than on the other ships' mini-suites, but there is plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage. The shower is fantastic, and the bathroom is great. Our major dissatisfaction was with the extremely uncomfortable bed in our suite. The mattress was WAY past needing to be replaced.

The balcony is very disappointing. It is too small to get around on period, Two tiny deck chairs and a small plastic table barely fit. You cannot face out to sea. no room for legs. Other ships we have sailed have had MUCH larger mini-suite balconies and chairs that would recline so you could sun on your own private balcony. The tiny balcony & the terrible bed are deal breakers for us. We will not sail with Norwegian again.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

Wonderful aviary. 12 bird houses connected by a network of swinging walking bridges from which you can observe dolphin encounters, shoppers, pools, etc! Delightful.

Harvest Caye

Flightline Zip line was incredible!!

Cozumel

We took a ferry across and then about a 45 minute bus ride to get to Xel Ha. It is a wonderful water park complete with sip line, river float, slides, dolphin encounters, and all-inclusive drinks & food. Margueritas are AMAZING!!!

New Orleans

The port in New Orleans obviously wasn't built to accommodate cruise ships, it was an after thought. While logistics & traffic jams getting to the port cannot be helped, once there it is a complete cluster. Unclear instructions, baggage handlers dropping luggage on the RR tracks, hours long embarkation lines which were very warm and not enough air circulating. One of my aunts nearly passed out from heat and exhaustion stating in the line. Many older persons & out of shape persons cruise, and this is NOT the port for either.
