We chose this ship because of the itinerary to Cuba. The departure went smoothly enough but our cabin was in poor condition as well as most if not all the furniture & fixtures. The dining was mediocre at best however they did serve plenty of drinks. Probably hoping nobody noticed how sub-par everything else was. We saw one comedian show which was fair but not all that funny. I can see why this cruise is an all inclusive drinking package cruise, however they really charge you up the Kazoo for that privilege.
I will say the service was pretty good overall and the condition of the ship should not reflect on the service. We traveled with a group of 11 friends which made the trip fun otherwise we would have not chosen this ship or trip. Cuba was a sort of bucket list thing, so it was worth it, however I would not do it again. Cuba was a cool place to visit once, they control everywhere you go and what they want you to see and hear about the culture and lifestyle of most Cubans. Basically what we saw was a country crumbling from within. The infrastructure and the buildings were trapped in a time warp from 1962. It was like something out of a H.G. Wells War of the Worlds. Lots of people doing there best to make a living out of nothing. Sure they have free housing and medical, but who would want to live in a building thats falling down all around them. You'll need the free medical just to stay alive. Oh, and we were told they had no crime? I had to think about that since every 3rd world country I've ever been in has some sort of crime be it petty or more serious. After I thought I about that statement, it dawned on me that they have no crime because no one has anything worth stealing......NO ONE.
Well, anyway were glad to be back in Miami for a visit before we go home to Texas. It was and experience for sure but I feel bad for the people there, they must be brain washed or something for them not make a change in the government.
Cabin was worn out, from flooring to bed sheets, drapes. Lights falling out of the ceiling to bed lamps angled making you feel out of sorts. Bathroom disgusting.
Not much to say about Stirrup Cay, we rented a cabana. It was just ok, nothing special.
