We have cruised many times on Princess and, prior to this cruise, have enjoyed excellent meals and service in all areas of the ship. We have been on the Royal Princess on prior cruises and been pleased with the ship. On this cruise, however, something changed. The food quality was below average and was always served lukewarm. We saw many passengers send the food back to have it warmed up. The bars even ran out several types of glassware and were serving drinks in tall narrow glasses that were not easy to drink out of. They said they said they were short on glassware. Several times the serving staff in the dining rooms and bars seemed to be put out to have to wait on passengers. We heard similar comments on the food and staff from several other long term Princess cruisers. The general feeling was that the cruise line is having trouble with profits and has cut back. Our cab driver, on the way to the hotel after the cruise, told us he had heard similar complaints from passengers he had earlier that morning.
