I want to emphasize the pleasures, the surprises, and the lessons learned. I don't need to reinvent the wheel.
I am a 70+ single woman, who traveled with a Cruise Critic group. They took good care of this adopted g-ma and it made for good times w/ good people.
I booked solo into a cove balcony, and that was absolutely delightful. I have never had a balcony of any sort, and have even booked inside rooms with persons unknown.
In that it was just one person in a space designed for 2, nothing I say would be very helpful. The cove balcony suited me very well. I loved the shower - oh my - and the bed was WONDERFUL!!!
Smoker in next cabin (2368) was evident - but, so be it. I don't run around like my hair is on fire when I smell cigarette smoke.
Steward in training was difficult to understand: ex: I thought he was asking if I wanted a sail fish - and his supervisor came around the corner and said he was asking if I wanted "service". I didn't see him again. Nothing about the room service in my area was worthy of particular praise. It simply "was" and that was fine. Some nights I didn't get an animal or candy. I survived!!!
I didn't try room (food) service.
