My husband and I, along with three other couples, were on the Summit for a 7 day southern Caribbean itinerary out of San Juan from Feb 20-27th. Three of the four couples had been on the Summit previously.

We did not book our air or transfers through the ship. We would consider air through the cruiseline in future as friends barely made the ship due to delays, and would have had to travel to the next port on their own dime, but transfers are not necessary. Taxis from the airport to the Panamerican Pier are $19, plus one dollar for each piece of luggage loaded and unloaded by the driver. With 4 of us in a minivan this cost considerably less than 4 transfers through the cruise line, and we did not have to wait around in the heat until they filled the shuttle bus. TIP: If there is a long line up for a taxi at the airport just grab a porter. They work for tips only, and go right to the front of the line. We gave the porter who helped us $5, and he was thrilled. It took him less than two minutes to walk us from the back to the front of the line; not a bad hourly rate if he gets $5 from everyone!

Once we got to the ship it got a little slow, though I must stress that Celebrity was doing their best to make the process as painless as possible. The embarkation process was a little delayed due to a novovirus breakout the prior week, so the ship was being sanitized. We looked at this as a good thing, and took the "take your time and do it right" attitude.

Cabin Review

Cabin CC

Concierge Class Cabin 9160 Aft. Good cabin, though a bit dark due to the length of the balcony. Huge balcony (had 8 people out there with plenty of room to spare, but it got no breeze, so was very hot (in fact sauna-like) in the afternoons.
